ABOUT DR. ASHLEY
Meet Dr. Ashley
Dr. Ashley grew up in Redwood City, CA. She graduated from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor's of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology and a minor in Cultural Anthropology. She then worked for several years as a counselor for children with severe emotional and behavioral problems before entering medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. After graduation, Dr. Ashley moved back to California and completed her residency training in Pediatrics at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, Oakland.
Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Ashley worked as a newborn and pediatric hospitalist. After a number of years, although she enjoyed many aspects about hospital based care, she missed the continuity and connection found in primary care but was frustrated by the limitations of traditional outpatient practices. Thus she founded Dr. Ashley Pediatrics with the goal of creating a truly unique medical practice that combined direct access with high quality, personalized pediatric care.
Dr. Ashley is married to her husband Jonathan, and they have three children, David, Lauren and Kaitlyn. Lauren was born with a congenital anomaly, requiring her to be in the NICU for the first few months of her life requiring two surgeries. This has given Dr. Ashley the unique perspective of experiencing medicine not only as a doctor and as a mother, but also as a NICU parent of a sick baby. Lauren has now fully healed and thankfully is thriving.
In her free time, Dr. Ashley enjoys spending time with her friends and family, playing sports (volleyball, soccer and tennis are some of her favorites), hiking, being outdoors, traveling, podcasts and reading books/book club.
